In the spirit of the hototogisu: go anyway! (Great prose/verse pairing!)
Isn’t this very short piece also a haibun? You could classify it as a haiku with ‘headnote’, but the light thrown by the prose brings the haiku to life in a most poetic way – and vice versa. Excellent!
