  1. The scarecrow must be tired after his/her long, tedious work this summer?!

  2. Perhaps not so much tired as lost in the tall rice. Alternative senryu-style last line in 2nd haiku: “those fireworks below”.

    Perhaps “needs help” in the first haiku is emotionally internalising a bit much — how about “beckoning for help”?
