From the Icebox inbox – 25

.

……. first day of spring –

……. snowflakes’ dancing revelry

……. in the morning sun

(Akira Kibi)

Plum buds peep

At the black March

Cherry trees

(David Stormer)

………….. three wrens

………….. for the price of one

………….. spring rain

(Michael Henry Lee)

a thousand mushrooms

covered in a soft cold mist

quivering in the wind

(Nat Evans)

………….. on the surface of the pond

………….. they are mirrored …

………….. double-flowered cherry trees

(Jiko)

……. At the ferry port,

……. One hour before departure –

……. That rolling feeling.

(Kamome)

summer sky …

the temple doves somersault

into wingsong

  1. This batch of lovely haiku reminded me of something I wrote back in 1996. It fits in with the (mostly) spring theme:

    The first person to walk
beside the river in the morning
clears out the work of the
    spiders during the night.

Tho not a haiku, still it has I feel a haiku sense.
The haiku above are all so wonderful. I can’t say which one would be my favorite. Three wrens is especially well wrought.
