    Bamdev’s is very fresh; Ann’s is, to me, a なんとなく ‘somehow or other’ haiku (beautiful, though); Hamish’s has been altered (with permission), as there are many technical terms involved in the ‘firies’ fighting of those terrible bush fires – an action-packed haiku, if ever there was one; Joanna’s is like a Van Gogh; Shinyu’s won the class vote at an undergraduate ginko kukai at Nishihonganji Temple; Shingo’s, the vote at another, held in the Kyoto University Botanical Gardens.
